Almost 12 years ago I purchased shurkus.com as a grad gift to myself… I’ve actively used it for my email address, but thats about it. Life happened, there never seemed time to build my own page- and even though i have been blogging since 2005, it was just easier to use typepad.com. Well folks… that is all changing! With my new position at Providence College.. one of my “tasks” is to learn wordpress, which in return has helped bring shurkus.com alive! I am SO excited to finally be using my little space on the net. Excited to have gotten the site this far, but I can promise you… more is to come! So… hold on, sit back… and enjoy, shurkus.com (would love to hear what you think :) )

I have spent the last few long weekends getting a lot done in my studio space. I love working in there, it’s just finding the motivation and time to get in there. I am also happy to announce I finally have opened my etsy shop! I have quite a few completed canvases posted, and some waiting for your unique quote. I also take custom orders – you get to choose the size, colors, and quote… just contact me. I hope you will spread the word on my fun new shop :)

i created a art canvas to raffle off at crop on the cape… i took pics along the way of creation with my iphone, but forgot to take a "pretty" final pic of it…. but you get the idea ;)
and this last picture was taken *very* *very* late at night… i forgot to spell out "imperfections" and just did "perfections" i fixed it the next day ;)

mister harley is a big part of my life.. crazy cat lady or not, he makes me happy. i love how he wants to be part of everything i do on the island… i thought i would share a few pics to prove it :)
these pics were taken on valentines day…. he’s the best valentine i could ask for… spent all day with him in my crafty space = perfect.
typical times in the studio… aka crafty space… i have trained him (as much as you can train a cat… ) to sleep in his box when im busy working… i love having him right there with me ;)
there are days he oozes out of the box… but i work around it to have that cute face there!
he loves all the fun boxes of goodies i’ve been getting…… after emptying them of course ;)
then there is the typical days… where he takes over my crafty space… if i havent given him enough attention… or have just been focused on my stuff… OR if i happen to clean up my space a bit.. he reminds me he is there… or thanks me for clearing a space for him (see below)
i wouldn’t have it any other way ;) sharing my island with him and i wouldn’t share sooo many pics of him if i didnt know how much you guys (my blog readers) enjoy him as well!

i went through my a muse stamps and pulled some that i just can't part with… but i know if i'm not teaching with a product… it doesnt get used. so i have to clear these babies out… i will miss them, kinda bittersweet….

sorry for the poor lighting in some of them.. i lost daylight… taking pics of 600+ stamps takes a looong time
