Happy December Everyone! Time for a new month, and time to finish up 2012. 2012 was a pretty goo year for me over all when I look back, more on that in a future post- but for today I wanted to share with you a card I made playing in my studio on day. The clouds are from an American Crafts paper in my stash, and the stamps are from Hero Arts/Basic Grey. I’m most pleased with how I made the “think happy sentiment” into letter fetti! I just love that look ;)

Think Happy Everyone!

This is my art journal, in an old book. It is in the beginning stages, and none of these pages are done. I am just PLAYING – I’m not criticizing myself, I’m not judging how they look. It is very freeing, and I’m enjoying it a lot!! I talked about where/how I was inspired in this post here. I hope you enjoy looking at these pages, and hopefully I will inspire YOU to play and be free!! I enjoy the fact that there is text already on the pages, so you don’t have an empty page just staring at you. Since it is an older book, I have been re-enforcing the spine with some old 7gypsies book binders tape I have had in my stash. I also have been tearing pages out here and there since the pages I am creating have some thickness to them, I need to make room so it will close a little bit.

This is my second attempt at the the “a blog named hero” color challenge. I had originally pulled these pattern papers from the Basic Grey’s Indie Bloom 6×6 paper pad when I created the butterfly card, but the patterns didn’t work in that design. I didn’t want them to go to waste, so I figured I would create another card. Hope you enjoy it!

Hope you are enjoying this long weekend! I plan to spend some time in my studio today, and I can’t wait!!

I *totally* get the winter blues! I can’t complain too much about this winter, as the weather has been unusually mild. I still miss the hot temps, and sun, and beach days…. i live for those beach days! It’s no secret that my have color is blue.. but mostly teals, so when i saw that the Moxie Fab challenge was more of a navy… i had a bit of trouble. I love how my card turned out. A little bit of My Minds Eye papers and embellishments, Hero Arts stamp and Prussian blue Chalk ink… It was super quick to pull together, and thats ok with me since I’ve been super busy kitting for Crop on the Cape, designing my next round of card classes AND getting some card kits up in my etsy shop (those were *wicked* time consuming… but feels good to get it done)

Well… enough chatter here is what I came up with for the Cure for the Winter Blue challenge over at Moxie Fab (p.s. LOVE their new blog banner!! now there are my colors!!)
