belindas borders

lsc-43

This week’s Lawnscaping Challenge is all about texture. I first thought of breaking out my embossing templates, but then I got on a creative spurt of using my edge distresser. Those who take my classes know i LOVE my edge distresser :) . So i layered 3 pieces of edge distressed paper as a base. Then i cut out the heart border from belinda’s borders and glued them on the card- adding glossy accents to them (more texture). I discovered that that “thank you heart” from the many thanks set fit perfectly into the Marvy pink, scalloped heart punch, and i felt the scallops added more texture as well (cheiron, can you hear me say that word? )

Lawnscaping Challenge #37: USE DIMENSION
Happy Monday Everyone!! If you are making your way to my blog from the Lawnscapings Challenge Blog- then I welcome you!! I’m super excited, this is my 1st challenge as part of the team. Use dimension… OK!!! I was excited to use the Belinda’s Borders set again, and Sunny Skies (both from Lawn Fawn)  for the first time- how cute is it that you can add smiley faces to the sun and clouds!? I paper pieced some gingham paper into the sun to add more dimension as well. I use foam tape like it’s going out of style. I love using 3M foam tape because you can cut it the size you need, and double up with it if you want it to pop even more! Below is a pic showing you the side view of my card- see a wicked lot of foam tape, resulting in dimension!
I hope you will play along over at Lawnscapings Challenge Blog!! You even get a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Simon Say Stamp!! How cool is that!? Remember you don’t need a blog to enter to win- you can just upload your pic to our FREE flickr gallery- how easy is that!?

{lawn}scaping challenge: colorsplash #36

This is my take for the {lawn}scaping color splash challenge. I was thinking a lot of white, with a burst of refreshing color- cool and crisp. I had fun playing with Lawn Fawn’s belinda’s borders for the first time and I had never inked up the thank you sentiment from hello friend. I really love how these challenges are inspiring me to MAKE STUFF! Are you playing a long with any fun challenges? share a link with me in the comments!
