I’m sure you can see from this picture mister harley is soooo excited to announce the winners of his birthday raffle. Hopefully though what you DO see, is how this little guy is really starting to settle into his new home, and I think he is pretty happy. He is ready to lounge for the long weekend…. wait who am i kidding he lounges EVERY day!

Today is all about celebrating mister harley’s 5th birthday!! i can’t believe he is already 5. I know how many fans he has so I thought I would include you guys in his birthday celebration. You guys may remember for his 3rd birthday we had a little fun, sharing greetings for him and then HE picked a prize winner. I thought it would be fun to do something like that again. I will be doing a little raffle in honor of his special day!! Create a birthday card, just for him. I wanted to shout out to Linda, and wish her a happy birthday!!
This year she is celebrating the B-I-G _0!! The above picture is her and I at the store she co-owns with Lori, Ink About It. This is back in 09. I have been lucky enough to teach at Ink About It for the past 6 or 7 years now!! Linda, Lori and everyone at Ink About It have always made me feel at home :)

I sent this card to Lori, she was going to decorate the store for Linda to see when she came to work- I had fun with some Lawn Fawn stamps, and also took a pic of the detail so that you can see the dimension and the balloon string ;)

Happy Birthday Vera! I’m still getting to know all the girls over on the Lawnscaping blog, but I still wanted to wish Vera a happy day :) I colored the hedgehog and the log with copic markers. Did you know!? Hedgehogs can be really messy pets!? They tend to roll in their own poo and food etc… ewwww – anyways I digress… have a fabulous day Vera!! I was intrigued to play a long with Moxie Fab’s Gingham Challenge, so I decided to also make it into a birthday card that I need for a very stinky special friend! I am head over heels in LOVE with Lawn Fawn clear sets, and am excited to have found a whimsical stamp company where I’m able to build cute little scenes with again! A lot of paper piecing on this card with Memory Box’s 8.5 x 11 gingham papers – so fun! There is still time to play along with the challenge, you have until June 4th to upload a card- I would love to see what you come up with!
I also realize this card fits into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge, to use pattern paper- so I’m playing a long with this as well!

Yesterday was mister harley’s 4th birthday. Still very much a kitten at heart. You are fresh, way too smart for your own good, and you *totally* have me wrapped around your paw- but i wouldn’t have it any other way! I love how you enjoy being with me anywhere i am in the island. You watch me out the window leave for work, and greet (try to sneak out) me as i come home. Your morning snuggles are the best, and head butts are my favorite. Happy birthday handsome kitty! Mister Harley Kitten Shurkus :)
The pics are from this winter, my friend jill spoils mister harley often with toys. This was a toy she made herself out of some bakers twine… he loves it! I love seeing his paws clenching it so tight!
i’m kinda on the fence if i’m welcoming 30 with arms wide open.. or if i will just pretend i’m 29 for another year (or so ;) ) while in boston on saturday a few people commented how i didnt look a day over 20… i’ll take it!! :)
with a lot of planning, manuvering on everyone parts, baby sitters, directions, hotel rooms booked, reservations made etc etc.. all my girls made it!! to boston… for my birthday!!! My closest 5 friends were there in one place for the first time in SEVEN years!! We all agreed that will NEVER happen again!
I am sooo lucky to have such a great group of friends…. coming from a not so big family these girls really are my chosen family… i know they are ALWAYS there for me as i am for them! marriages, moving and babies… and we are still as close as ever…. i’m just so lucky.
We met for a late lunch at magianno’s little italy… two words “family style” YUM!!! then we hung out in the hotel room.. more silliness, beverages and chit chat… steph had me pose for some glamour shots ;) ahh…. and we also realized i will NEVER be able to run for political office with the photos that are out there circulating of me ;)
we then got all hooched up.. *cough* i mean dressed up ;) and went to finale for the best dessert ever!! it was so great.. everything i had planned for us was RIGHT near the hotel…
we had to work off all those calories from dinner and dessert.. so we headed to the estate for some DANCING!!! ;) fun was had….
i danced on stage with a rather trashy looking girl ;)

“oh… i just like to get drunk and dance on stage” says white trashy girl
ahhhh… good times good times… there were half naked girls dancing.. and even made a few bucks ;)
and steph found a BFF for life… ;) note sunglass boy below…
it was absolutely perfect ;)
i got a lime juicer, my first bottle of don julios ;) , lemon drop shot ingredients, flip flops, itunes gift cards… and more goodies!! my girls know me TOO well!
