November 17: today i am thankful for my sunrises and sunsets. Since I started my job at PC i have noticed how beautiful sunrises can be ;) I am not a morning person, so I was missing out on these… and then again on my drive home i’m often lucky enough to witness a lot of beautiful sunsets :) I have really been trying to slow down a bit, and take in how beautiful nature and weather can be.

November 14: today i am thankful for my island. I am such a believer in “everything happens for a reason” and when i felt i was ready to move on, and live on my own… this place was literally just waiting for me. I have lived here for 5.5 years now. I love how quiet it is, how close to the beach it is, and it isn’t so bad rubbing shoulders with the kennedy’s either ;) . I get asked all the time why i call it my island- well, for starters it is waaaay more fun then calling it my apartment, island sounds so beachy AND these lyrics were pretty much my life when i moved here. I am thankful for all the soul searching, all the fun times, all the memories shared here.

November 10: today i am thankful for my fun friends. These are the friends who live close to me on the cape, who have kept me sane especially over the past year and a half. When my chosen family is a bit too far for a quick drink after work, or if i need a beach buddy, my fun friends have been there. Silly, tons of laughs, just good ol wicked fun times. No drama, a group of friends where we can all be true to ourselves. I love the support system we have built for one another, and I know these are friendships that will last over time. Er, 27 and nicks- thank you so much. really. i am thankful for you guys.

November 5: today i am thankful for all the awesome beach days i enjoyed this summer. I even was lucky enough to enjoy a staycation in august, that resulted in perfect beach weather for 99% of the week! I’m already counting down the days for the next beach day i will get to enjoy!

November 4: today i am thankful for where i live.
If you asked my gram 25 years ago if jenn liked the ocean, she would laugh. I grew up swimming in lakes and rivers in NH- i was a fish. My parents had a hard time getting me out of the water to eat lunch. So, my gram would try and take me to the ocean “for something different” …. i hated it. and was very pouty towards her because of it. How am i supposed to swim underwater when the salt water is stinking my eyes and the water tastes funny?!
fast forward 10 years ago. I moved to the cape. I knew i was a summer girl, hated winter… but never imagined how much i would fall in love with the ocean. I love the smell, the air, the feel on my skin. I know i will never be able to love too far from this beautiful body of water. I am thankful that i have been able to live so close and in such a beautiful part of new england for almost 10 years.

Happy Shark Week!!! Did you not know that this is one of the *best* weeks of the year!? well it is ;) especially if you ask my friend Jill. So she challenged me and some friends to create some shark inspired cards. Living on cape cod we hear a lot about sharks in the summer, especially great whites now that the seal population is crazy! So I created this card with that in mind ;)
The “welcome to cape cod” stamp was designed by nina, and we sold them at Colorful Creations before we closed. I made the ocean with some washi tape, the shark and “jawsome” stamp were provided by Jill. “You’re” is part of Hero Arts, Sending Smiles set, and I cut the you’re away from the rest of the sentiment.
I love to see how excited Jill gets about shark week. I also laugh at the fact that people are surprised we have sharks. in the ocean. on the cape- go figure ;)
Some of my fun friends from the cape and I plan on swimming with the sharks at Nauset on monday- wish us luck!! ;)
Take a peek at some more shark week creations by these super talented girls ;)

Hey everyone! If you are looking for the TGIHarley post, that will come later today I promise. First, I wanted to direct your attention to my next card class on the cape and at Ink About It. Washi Tape, which is a Japanese masking tape is super HOT and trendy right now. I know I have collected a few rolls myself *wink*. I have decided to do a class showing you some fun easy to recreate techniques you can do with this embellishment! Using Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts stamps you will create 5 cards. The class on the cape is almost full, only 1 spot left! The class at Ink About It is later in august, so be sure to call and sign up! You can find dates and times for these classes over on my class page. Looking forward to seeing everyone, and so thanksful that I still get to teach these fun classes! Thank you!!
