I created this card to wish good fortune to one of my best friends, one of my chosen family- Stacy. I also created it welcoming her new husband Andy, into the chosen family that is so so so special to me. I have seen and been part of 4 of my girls wedding days and wedding events leading up to the big day. Stacy and Andy were married in Hawaii with a very intimate ceremony, and even though i wasn’t there my good thoughts were with them on their special day. I also can’t wait to celebrate with them this summer when they host a BIG celebration for all their friends and family!

I used Copic markers to color in the fortune cookie. I used a white gel pen to color in the chopsticks on the kraft paper it really pops! I also added in a little sparkle pen to the take out container handle, to represent the silver metal. I listed both Memento and Versafine in my supply list below because i always use Versafine for my sentiments. Memento although I love it when used with copics.. I don’t love it for a good crisp sentiment. Creatively using foam tape and curling the paper, makes the cookie and fortune look almost real. I was happy with how it turned out.
I’m also grateful that another one of my best friends was able to be there on Stacy and Andy’s special day, and truly capture it on camera. I am always in awe of Steph’s talent behind the lens… but when it has to do with those near and dear to me… i’m even more thankful. Before you all flood her with emails to shoot your wedding, she isn’t taking wedding requests just yet, BUT family portraits, newborns… she is your girl! A little birdie told me she will have an art shop of her images soon, and don’t even get me started on her talent behind a macro lens! oy!
For the next Lawnscaping Challenge we have for you some Winter Wonderland cards. I’m not a huge fan of winter, shocker i know… but i DO love my blues and snowflakes! I thought the fox from critters in the woods was perfect for a snowy scene. Be sure to check out the other girls creations over on the blog, and share with us your winter wonderland creation so you can have a chance of winning some Lawn Fawn goodies! I decided to add some liquid applique to create the snowy scene- love puffing it up with a heat tool!
Happy New Year everyone! I have a blog post coming soon on my thoughts of 2012 and my one little word for 2013- but for now I want to wish a Happy 2nd Birthday to Lawnscaping Challenge Blog! We decided to celebrate with a party theme challenge- how fun is that!? :) Create a party themed card, tag, layout- whatever you would like and link a pic of it over on the challenge blog! This month is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and you could win a gift certificate from them! Can’t wait to see what everyone submits!

Brrrrr….. it’s super cold out there, so I decided to channel my inner summer – and share with you this fun “beachy” card! Impression Obsession has fabulous beachy and nautical stamps! I just love the playfulness of this beach scene in a gumball machine. I stamped out a few of the stamp, from my friend Kimberly over a year ago (sad i know.. it took this long for me to create with them). I colored in the image with copics. I used the multiple stamped out images to color the beach balls, so I could cut them out and pop them up off the card to add dimension. I added ultrafine crystal glitter to the sand, the umbrella and the sun. I added mini pearls to the beach balls, and then glossy accents on some of the waves on the gumball machine. Edge distressing the blue layer and wrapping some bakers twine to add more details. Then of course I “word fettied” the sentiment ;)
Hope this adds a little sunshine, and warmth to your day!
*sigh* I suppose it is THAT time again- you know, holiday card season. We all know how much I LOVE the holidays- but i was just dying to use this new set from Lawn Fawn (and I had some class samples i needed to design)
I decided for our new technique challenge i would break out some of my sizzex dies. I tend to only use these in scrapbooking and altered art projects, I often forget to use them on cards. Then I also decided to use some acrylic paint again, a supply i don’t think to use on cards. I LOVE how this lil owl came out with copic markers (colors i used listed below, remember I like the copic originals, just linking to sketches since thats all simon says carries)
Those of you on cape cod OR near Ink About It can also look forward to making this card in my upcoming Holiday card classes (details here)

Just a quick blog post to shout out “happy birthday” to Laurel!
Laurel, I hope you have a *wicked* fabulous day! Enjoy!! Blog readers- be sure to pop on over to Nette’s blog to see a list of a bunch of other crafty peeps who have birthday shout outs for Laurel as well! Lots of birthday inspiration coming your way!!
I finally purchased my 1st Paper Smooches set. My friend glenda has been showing *wicked* cute cards on her blog with their stamps for awhile now, and I’ve had them on my wishlist. I made this card while crafting with some friends on google+ hangout. It came out VERY pink- so I knew just who to send it to. My friend Jill *loves* pink, and she is always spoiling me with handmade cards, so in my effort to send friends more cards this year i knew I owed her a couple ;) The candy stickers around the sentiment were in my stash, hanging on my clip it up – I think I picked them up at Borders years ago.
Hope everyone is enjoying this fabulous summer weather we have been having! I have spent a ton of time on the beach, and just enjoying Cape Cod- a goal I had for my self this summer!
Note: The Copics linked below are for Sketch style, I use the Original Style in my studio, but wanted to link the colors used. The note card and pattern paper is Memory Box .
Happy Birthday Vera! I’m still getting to know all the girls over on the Lawnscaping blog, but I still wanted to wish Vera a happy day :) I colored the hedgehog and the log with copic markers. Did you know!? Hedgehogs can be really messy pets!? They tend to roll in their own poo and food etc… ewwww – anyways I digress… have a fabulous day Vera!! Pop on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to see all the other fabulous cards the team created!
I’m *wicked* excited to share with you that I have been chosen to be on the Lawnscaping’s Design Team!! I love the adorableness of the Lawn Fawn sets, and the quality of their clear stamps is top notch!! I was excited enough to be teaching with them, but now to add on top of that to be playing along with the super talented lawnscaping team is AWESOME! I hope I will inspire you to play along with their challenges as well. Check out the announcement post over on the blog, and be sure to welcome the other “new girls” too! We don’t “officially” start until July, but I thought I would share a couple Lawn Fawn cards with you anyways-
and this next card I switched up a bit for the shoebox card swap I participated in at Ink About It a few weekends ago
Note: The copics linked below are for Sketch style, I use the Original Style in my studio, but wanted to link the colors used
