moxie fab

Playing a long with the spatter technique over on the Moxe Fab World blog- you have until July 4th to participate. I have never really used a spatter technique on my cards- definitely have on my more artsy fartsy type projects. I played with some ranger color washes, lawn fawn stamps, watercolor pencils and voila! I got a little under water scene! Thinking I will add this card to my “Heroes Card Drive” stash to send out at the end of July.

happy birthday cardI was intrigued to play a long with Moxie Fab’s Gingham Challenge, so I decided to also make it into a birthday card that I need for a very stinky special friend! I am head over heels in LOVE with Lawn Fawn clear sets, and am excited to have found a whimsical stamp company where I’m able to build cute little scenes with again! A lot of paper piecing on this card with Memory Box’s 8.5 x 11 gingham papers – so fun! There is still time to play along with the challenge, you have until June 4th to upload a card- I would love to see what you come up with!
I also realize this card fits into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge, to use pattern paper- so I’m playing a long with this as well!

Note: The copics linked below are for Sketch style, I use the Original Style in my studio, but wanted to link the colors used

I *totally* get the winter blues! I can’t complain too much about this winter, as the weather has been unusually mild. I still miss the hot temps, and sun, and beach days…. i live for those beach days! It’s no secret that my have color is blue.. but mostly teals, so when i saw that the Moxie Fab challenge was more of a navy… i had a bit of trouble. I love how my card turned out. A little bit of My Minds Eye papers and embellishments, Hero Arts stamp and Prussian blue Chalk ink… It was super quick to pull together, and thats ok with me since I’ve been super busy kitting for Crop on the Cape, designing my next round of card classes AND getting some card kits up in my etsy shop (those were *wicked* time consuming… but feels good to get it done)

Well… enough chatter here is what I came up with for the Cure for the Winter Blue challenge over at Moxie Fab (p.s. LOVE their new blog banner!! now there are my colors!!)

I decided to try my first moxie fab challenge … and boy, is it a doozie! I’m all for a challenge, and this certainly didn’t hold anything back. The boldness, the color combos are all out of my comfort zone… but you know what? That is what is best about trying challenges, they open up your creative brain to new ideas!

I was immediately inspired by the bold wall paper, and happy to see a splash of teal (of course) and last but not least i loved the striking clean black and white pattern. Hope you enjoy the card I created!
