Good morning everyone! Today I’m thrilled to be featured on the Lawn Fawn blog. I shared with them this fun nautical thank you card. I have been living in Providence for almost a month, and even though i LOVE it… i also miss Cape Cod a bit… so I decided to do a nautical card. I thought of this idea when talking to one of my besties Melyssa about Sea Monkey’s and how odd they are – that made me think of capturing seahorses in a jar… normal right? I love this fun card that came to life… my first creation in my *new* space! :)
Reminder: you can still create mister harley a birthday card to celebrate his 5th! You have until May 7th more details here.

Ok… onto the fun stuff- the CARD ;) I took a bunch of detail shots because i wanted you to get a sense of the dimension and the glitter and the glossy accented bubbles :) Now it’s time for me to design my moving cards!
This week’s Lawnscaping Challenge is all about texture. I first thought of breaking out my embossing templates, but then I got on a creative spurt of using my edge distresser. Those who take my classes know i LOVE my edge distresser :) . So i layered 3 pieces of edge distressed paper as a base. Then i cut out the heart border from belinda’s borders and glued them on the card- adding glossy accents to them (more texture). I discovered that that “thank you heart” from the many thanks set fit perfectly into the Marvy pink, scalloped heart punch, and i felt the scallops added more texture as well (cheiron, can you hear me say that word? )
This is my take for the {lawn}scaping color splash challenge. I was thinking a lot of white, with a burst of refreshing color- cool and crisp. I had fun playing with Lawn Fawn’s belinda’s borders for the first time and I had never inked up the thank you sentiment from hello friend. I really love how these challenges are inspiring me to MAKE STUFF! Are you playing a long with any fun challenges? share a link with me in the comments!
I finished my designs for my next card class this weekend. I am really pleased with how they came out. Check out my classes page for details of when and where you can take this fun class!
